My latest Kilt

So, I took my first try.. and just stepped it up a notch. I decided I wanted to do reverse kingussie pleats.

That's the front, note it looks primarily blue from the front, and notice the Star on the bottom corner of the over apron.

That's the back of the kilt, I have not had the chance to do the final ironing on it, so its not completely crisp, I just finished stitching everything.

This is a close up of the inserts, took a lot of work, but I think it turned out great.
]
This shows the pockets that I have added, they are similar to 'pants' pockets, they are not the biggest.. but they hold my cell phone and a money clip with my ID and some money, so its got some storage, I felt it would do more for me, especially with the inserts then cargo pockets would. The pockets are made out of the same material the inserts are made of.

Well compared to my first try at a modern kilt... its.. a big step, but that's just how I do it, if I am going to do it, I am going to do it big, lol.

Let me know what everyone thinks, I am planning on making more closer to the X-kilt design, with box pleats, because 21 pleat inserts, where a little to much, so I think the 10-12 box pleats will be less work. I still plan on doing the pockets like they are in this one.
*Note, you can click on the images, and they will pull up larger, thought I would make them thumbnails to help the load time.*

A fine job, that! The apron is quite interesting, I must say, and the over all hang looks very good, as well. Congratulations!

I'd certainly be interested to see a picture once the pleats are steamed in nice and crisp... that should make quite a difference in the effect, what with the inserts.

Im working on a couple others for myself, including Maryland Terps. As well as my hockey, (Washington capitals), my baseball (Baltimore O's), and my alternate Cowboys one (white with blue inserts).. I may also make a Baltimore Ravens one for myself.. depending on how things are going, lol.

I got to see the Caps kilt. Back in the late 80's, I used to go to the Caps games with some high school friends. Tickets where only $8, and we hit every home game.

Well I must say... That would turn some heads at a Cowboys game.

Nobody is going to mistake you for anything but a Cowboys fan. Well done!
