New Kilt

A cairdean,

Being a fairly new member here I have been going over the previous posts and found a lot of useful information as well as one heck of a bunch of really nice people. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it.

I have found that as I got older (and a lot wider, no so much wiser) and my kilts didn't fit anymore that it might be time to get some new ones.

Last year I ordered a black canvas kilt from Matt Newsome at the Scottish tartans museum. I am very pleased with it. Matt is a great guy and was very helpful.

Next I wanted a tartan kilt but being a senior and on social security disability a traditional wool kilt was way out of my budget. I had been looking online for an affordable highland chieftain's waistcoat to wear to my nephew's wedding in August.

By luck, I found scotlandshopdirect.com on the internet. They had what i was looking for at a price I could afford. I got the highland chieftains waistcoat (size XL) and a MacLeod of Harris o/c poly viscose kilt (size 44) from stock items.

I placed the order at around 2:00 am Tuesday morning (May 11th). They transferred the funds from my bank account here in the U.S. They packed my order and shipped it out on Wednesday, May 13th, and it was delivered to my door on Friday May 15th at 9-00 AM. A total of 4 days to place an order and have it delivered, i'm impressed. Total for both plus shipping came to around $180.00.

I am very happy with the quality and price as well as customer service. If anyone is looking for an inexpensive way to go I suggest trying there.

Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions or want more info, feel free to PM me.

Seumas

Aha! Perhaps that's why you didn't realize that you have to post pictures if you want us to believe this tale of a new kilt!

Aldisimo,

Like the man said, if there are no pictures it didn't happen

It would be great to see your prize if ypu can get the technology to work.

Cheers,

Marshal Moroni

RE: New Kilt

Hey guys thanks for responding. Yes I am aware of the unwritten law "show us the goods." My digital camera is being a beast and won't let me download the pics in it to the computer. I will find an alternative method and get some in soon. God I hate Microsoft Vista. Going to crash this thing and go back to XP or even '98. I bought one of those disposable cameras, will have the pics taken and take it to walmart and have them put it on a disk for me. Then you lads will have your proof (and I will have the last laugh--ha ha I told ya).

You won't have to. Vista will crash it for you.
