    New Tan Workman

I took advantage of the Utilikilt sale and got a tan workman and it arrived today. I love it already. I have two traditionals also but my utilikilts are my favorites.

Congrats! I've been thinking about getting a workmans too.

UK's are my favorite of the "contemporary" kilts. I don't own any others, but that's because after looking at them online I don't really see any I like as much as the UK's. I have been looking at some tartan kilts, but havn't gotten one because I need pockets.

Congratulations on the new kilt, but we need pictures, and BTW some of us call our Sporrans pockets.

Count me among those in which Glen speaketh of...

Ehh... yeah.... I call my sporran a "pocket" particularly when asked what it is.

Also, check out Freedom Kilts (top left here on any forum page) he makes a tartan model kilt with slash and rear pocket options, that are pretty sweet.

My UK basic has two huge side pockets that bump into everything. My FK has well hidden pockets that don't show at all. Steve Ashton can make a trad that has all the contemporary goodies, but a lot better.
I still wear a sporran with the UK, the side pockets are usually reserved for BEER.

Congrats on the new UK. The workman are my favorites, lots of pockets, and strong material. Wear it in good health.

    Best regards,

Yeah, I prefer pockets over sporrans though. I understand that sporrans are the pocket solution for traditional kilts... but they just aren't my style (*gasp* heresy!). I like pockets for their "invisibleness", especially in kilts, since they don't bulge like they do in pants. I'll just either have to add pockets to tartan kilts that I buy, or carry around a backpack or something, which'll work just fine since I only wear kilts casually. I was thinking I would probably end up adding front pockets to a UK Workmans too if I got one.

Since I only own Utilikilts, I'm used to the pockets. I've been wondering what a sporran would be like, though - it seems like it would bounce into certain anatomical structures that don't appreciate being bounced into.
