Philly Folk Fest Kilts - Notes.
See Photos on separate thread.
Notes:
All pictures taken on Saturday. The other three days of the Festival were similar.
These pictures represent less than a quarter of the kilts worn.
The Festival is 49 years old. Kilts have been represented for about the last 8 years.
Utilikilts were first.
Then Amerikilts vended there for at least one year.
Each year there are more kilts and more (versions of ultra casual) styles.
Those styles are completely unremarked upon in that venue.
Note one gent with his kilt on backwards. I asked him in a friendly way about his style and he assured me, and in a Celtic accent no less, that he always wears it that way. But a half hour later he had reversed the kilt to pleats to the rear.
Forgive the two pictures of the kilted lass. Worth it for the hug she gave me.
