Bear, being that I'm retired RCMP and think that its the most beautiful tartan ever prouced I would love it, unfortunately I want the heavyweight for my kilt.. what kind of price are you talking and how much yardage?
It's a great looking Tartan.I feel it's wrong to use a tartan that has a services connection unless you have been a member of that branch ...Like yourself David
Is it just used for parade or is it an optional part of the daily uniform for the RCMP

David,
That is a beautiful tartan, which is why I thought someone might like a kilt made from it. It is dark, yet vibrant. Of course, most won't have the emotional attachment to it that you do.
I might be able to get my hands on almost 30 yards of it.
I think it would be an unusual tartan for those that like to be different, as it's not listed on most of the big weaver's sites.
Here are the prices for my wool kilts:
4 yard kilt
Hips to 42" $350.00 (265.00 US)
Hips to 50" $375.00 (285.00 US)
Hips over 50" $400.00 (300.00 US)
8 yard kilt
Hips to 42" $500.00 (375.00 US)
Hips to 50" $525.00 (395.00 US)
Hips over 50" $550.00 (415.00 US)
Let say that I got pulled over by a RCMP, would that officer recognise the tartan? and Would I get off without a warning because I am wearing the RCMP Tartan?
