Shamrock Tartan

Has anyone some pic's of the Shamrock tartan made up to a kilt
I'd love to see them.
Also is it a registered tartan or is it just for fun

The "Shamrock" tartan is a GREAT material that was found in a warehouse near fabric row. It's a deep green with thin black lines. It's not an actual tartan, but the thing just begged to be named Shamrock.

Unfortunately, it doesn't photograph well since it is so dark.

In the light, it has a definite Green hue to it, whereas in the dark it's muted. It's a fantastic material and tartan... or we wouldn't have bought it.

For those Irish who refuse to wear the BlackWatch, but like the look... this is the one to order.

I picked up a shamrock kilt pin at the local Scottish shop, but I found a similar piece at "apollosaxes.com/shkipin.html" for $20 or at "scotlandforever.net" for $25. They also show one at "e-kilts.com". I haven't done business with any of these folks though so I can't give any recomendations.

If the Shamrock Kilt Pin vendor information helps, I HAVE ordered a number of items from Apollo's Axes. They're great with the bagpipe accessories, ethnic instruments and everything else. Delivery has always been lightning fast and carefully packaged.

It's a nice tartan, but for an irish kilt, I would be more inclined to go for a saffron kilt. I agree with Jimmy though, a good alternative to Black Watch.
