Some Missing Tartans and Hose Question

Rocky, I noticed that some of the tartans are not listed on the site any more. Are you rotating stock or is it 'as available'?

    Just courious....

    RLJ-

ALSO...The kilt hose you have listed (white) is it an off white (what I'm looking for) or athletic sock bright white? I need some for use with the Dress Campbell for a semiformal evening event and I'd rather get it from you if possible...supporting the locals as it were.

    Thanks again,
    RLJ-

    Richard,

The plain kilt hose are actually a real white. If you hit the "colored" hose, there's one that's called Aran that's what you're looking for. It's just between oatmeal and white. If you need a little darker, the Stone are mroe along the lines of oatmeal. Hope that helps until the Rock gets on here again.

Thanks Jimmy. Hadn't talked to you in a while. I'm trying to put all this stuff together before the annaversry cruise my wife has planned. They have a 'formal' night on board so I'm trying to put together an outfit around the Dress Campbell.

    Thanks again,

Richard, where are you going on your cruise? If I may ask.

Leave Sept 20th from Galviston TX down to Mexico then back. My wife did it about 2 years ago with her father and sister after my mother in law died. This was a 'time alone' for them and she always wanted to do it again. Our annaversary is in July (4th) so this is the 10 year cruse...a few month late but best time for both of us.

She commented that I probably didn't want to wear a kilt in Mexico. I told her that the Aztec and Mayan's wore a version of the kilt so why shouldn't I?

Don't let her know but I'm started to look forward to it.

    sock

    Richard,

Yeah, we're trying to get some of the "less desirable" material and material we have very little of out of rotation, so we're making them into "ready made" kilts to bring with us to festivals. Going forward, Kelly and I are going to go with as much Poly Viscose as possible (to keep in stock without breaking the bank). It's the best "compromise" between price and material and it's washable. We should get our big order in next week... we've been contacted by customs in NY telling us it's clearing. Check out our site for updates... when we get the tartans, they'll be on our site.

ACTUALLY, we're going to give XMARKS people a 3 day sneak preview sale of 15% off... that should whet your appetite.

About the hose... are you trying to match MY dress gordon material or do you have a kilt from someone else that you're trying to match? If it's my material (coloring varies from mill to mill), and IF you TRUST ME, I can match the best hose and send them out to you. Drop me a line at the shop (but NOT Sat as I'll be at the Bonnie Brae fest in Jersey). 610.650.USAK

Hope this info helps! Have fun in Mexico! Don't drink the water... we don't get "Stains" out of kilts. hahahhahaha

I have 2 of the Wool Dress Campbell's I got from you. I am trying to match this. I figure after payday next week I'll get the hose, I'm doing things a little at a time. I am holding off till I see what tartans you get in for the next kilt. I'll keep an eye out.

    Thanks,
