[Riverkilt]

On vacation this week, wanted to get some hiking in. Realized its Tartan Day but the only tartans I have other than my most elegant tank from Kathy's Kilt is a couple SportKilts.

Don't wanna wear the tank out in the dust and the sand so said what the heck and put on the Macdonald tartan SportKilt. Added a belt and a Freelander sporran to hold the thing down in any wind.

Worked great. Weirdest sensation is that after a winter of wearing FKs and PKs and UKs the SportKilt was soooo light it actually felt like I was hiking bare bottomed. The slight breeze added to that effect.

Guess it takes some getting used to. Sure did feel good though. :P

I've been wearing the heavier kilts all winter, and just broke-out the poly/viscose ones for the spring. I had a gig outside New York City on a windy day... and whooooooosh!!!

Suddenly, I remembered why I wear WOOL. Even a lighter wool!!! If it wasn't for the fact that BEAR made the pleats VERY deep and VERY dense, that thing would have been over my head.

Bear... I'm sure the people of New York City thank you!

As a nudist I'd rather be naked, but when I can't, it's so nice to be able to wear a light-weight SK in public, and feel soooo good. I love my SKs, including a "hiker", in warm weather.

I have two Sportkilts. The materials are so light, and exceptionally so with their 'Hiking Kilt', it sometimes feels like I forgot to put it on.

I thought the Macdonald tartan went well with the scrub here in the canyonlands.
