Tons of Contempo Kilts @ Dragon Con

I'm in Atlanta, GA right now enjoying Dragon Con. I'm happy to report that kilts are literally everywhere. Most are UK's, but there are smatterings of others as well as some self-mades...a few of which actually look pretty good. While I don't like the idea of kilts as "costume", it is pretty cool to see so many kilts being worn in a context that is not a highland games or other Scottish event.

Sometimes as "a costume" it gives the first time wearer the nerve to do it.
Then they will come over to "Our side".......

Have you run into the author Diana Gabaldon? She posted on her website that she would be there.

If you see a portly fellow with long blond hair and glasses, dressed in black wearing combat boots and dragging around a small, cute asian girl (I just described 75% guys there), that'll be my friend Crazy George.

Try and stay away from him.

    Fixed.

I was at Dragon*Con and had a blast! I was kilted for my own enjoyment and not as a costume.

I did try on a Utilikilt at their booth and I must admit, I liked the look and the comfort of the fit.

Apart from Ripcode, only in Karin Traviss' novels do Mandos have all the fun. #nerdjoke
