    UK Belt Loops

Does anyone know the maximum width of belt usable with a UK survival?

    Thanks.

My original is about 2.25", but I'm wearing it right now, so the measurment isn't exact.

Galant, you can squeeze a 3 inch belt in the Survival loops, but really about 2 3/4 is going to be a better fit. Especially if its thick harness leather at that width. Most 3 inch belts ought to be a little under 3 inches anyway, actually measuring around 2 7/8". Those should fit fine.

Originals and Mockers have smaller loops, Workmans and Survivals have the larger.

Yaish - who is currently wearing the very same model kilt I sold you last weekend.

BTW, how are your brother and friend liking their kilts? Any problems? Questions?

Well my brother's schedule being what it is he hasn't got much use out of it yet, but he's looking forward to wearing it for a concert tomorrow.

I've been wearing mine about every day when I get off work. I've been enjoying it a lot, though if I had one complaint/question it might be that I'd like to try a smaller waist size by one, or shorter length by one. I went with the 33 to allow it to ride lower as advised but it brings the kilt below the knee and inch or so. It's not too bad but I just have a feeling a 32 might have worked better, or perhaps a shorter length.

I'm thinking a wider belt might help since with this one there is room for the kilt to fall lower since it doesn't fill the loops.

All in all though I'm enjoying it and am happy.

The wider belt will help. The bottom of the belt rests on your hips, so the wider the belt the more it fills the loops and the more it raises it. I think we tried you with one of our belts at the booth right?

What belt are you wearing with it now? The ones we had were 1 3/4 and thats about minimum for filling out the loops. A normal pant belt wont cut it, it rides too low and make the waist curl.

I picked one of yours up at the booth - brown with stars.

Ah, thats right. And that one is two inches I believe.

Well a 3 inch will make some difference and the loops will take it. There is also the option of cinching it a bit tighter to wear it higher. You might find you have to punch a new hole though, as the distance between the holes doesnt always match what we need.

That one is 100% cotton though, so when you wash it you should get a bit of shrinkage. Not much, but perhaps just enough to take up that difference. If the length still doesnt suit, there is always the option of getting it hemmed.
