Utilikilts Survival II in Desert Digital Camo

I've owned a LOT of Utilikilts. "Outgrew" most of them. Then thought I was too olde to wear them at 68.

Did buy a few that fit. Survival IIs are a favorite for hiking. Here's pics of the kilt from a hike below the mesa last Friday.

Particularly like how the cargo pockets can carry water bottles.

Cant beat hiking in kilts, so darn comfortable. I have two Elkommando kilts and the cargo pockets are great for carrying the munchies, liner gloves, headband etc. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Are the desert camo survivals made out of the same lightweight rip-stop as the sage camo originals? I may have to get one of those.

Thanks, I will, the current sale on the camo has got me thinking about picking one up. I got the sage camo last month, but the weather here in MA has prevented me from wearing it thus far.

I plan to hit some of the hiking trails in the Berkshires, and the Seven Sisters this year, so I'll make sure to post some pics of green rolling hills as a counterpoint to yours.

Can you point out the differences in a "Survival" and a "Survival II" for me?? I wasn't aware that there was a "II" to begin with!

I believe the original survival is the one they made up for that Rudy(?) guy to wear on one of the early Survival programs when he wasn't nekie. Was a different fabric I think. Version II aka Survival II is the cotton one with whatever changes they made from that first effort. Corrections and clarifications welcome.

Gotcha... also, glad to see I'm not the only one who uses the term "nekie". Rugrats for the win!

Anywho... I'm currently wearing my Survival (II?) for the first time in what seems like forever. So comfy. Can't wait to get my black one back, I'm wearing my tan/coyote one right now.
