"I too am in the 40+ crowd. Last year when I was thinking about how much I had enjoyed being in a kilt (it had been over 15 years), yes, Monarch of the Glen started me thinking about this, I told my wife about my desire to go 'kilted' again. We were dating the last time I had been in a kilt and she knew I had enjoyed it but given into the 'preasure' to stop wearing it from friend and family. I was 'young and dumb' then! Last year I decided to 'come back' into the kilted clan. One of the things I told her when I was showing her all the sports kilts, casual and traditional kilts was that this was MY midlife crisis! No red sports car, been there and did that when I was 25. No, 20 year old, too much to teach them! And I had brewed my own beer for 10 years and if I got down to 25 gals in the house I felt like I was 'running low'. So, she understood when I said I spent the first 45 years trying to fit into the 'normal mold' and I decided that the last 45 years (or more I hope) would be like Frankie...doing it my way!

As long as I take care of her she won't mind too much the kilts...except when I start TAKING CLOSET SPACE AWAY FROM HER for the kilts...she has told me I'll pay big time if I do that....

I did tell her this weekend about the new USAkilt I ordered last week from Jimmy...of course it was over a good dinner at our favorite restraunt after I got her alittle something...I THINK I finally got this thing figured out...now I just hope she doesn't go and change the rules on me!

My McCarthy traditional kilt from USA was waiting when I got home Wednesday night. It's truly awesome. It may well be the best fitting kilt in my collection and the cotton poly material has a very interesting texture, smooth and with just a hint of sheen. The workmanship is beautiful. I particularly like the way the "eyelet" that the lefthand strap goes through is angled so that the strap lays flat without bunching the fabric or creating a gap as it straps down. The pattern is a little smaller than I anticipated but I love the colors. (By the way, my wife likes it too, I don't have to sleep in the doghouse like I was afraid I would.) I'll definitely be wearing this one alot, and it got here in time for Tartan week to boot! I'm a happy camper.

GREAT to hear Jamie!

We take great pride in the "Traditionals" at USAKilts, and the fact that everyone has really responded well to them so far!

Wear it with pride... as Kelly sewed it up that way too! She's truly a GREAT kiltmaker!
