What is the difference between a PC and Regulation style doublet?
On a different post I saw something talking about slimmer people should wear a PC (it's from the 1930's)... As I am rather large, I asked what I should wear and a "Regulation Style Doublet" was the answer. I googled it and looked at the pictures. It looks like the PC I have, or what was sold to me as a PC.
So what IS the difference?
Yes, I'm Scottish...yes, it's a kilt not a skirt... yes, I do like haggis... no, I don't play bagpipes, but my ancestors did hack up people with swords, usually ones asking annoying questions. :)

A regulation doublet has 4 tashes (skirts or inverness flaps they are also called) with braid and buttons on them. The cuffs are also of an argyll style. They are basically a Prince Charlie jacket, with the addition of the tashes, which gives the doublet a longer look. A quick google will give you pics of both

The biggest difference is that the Regulation doublet has Inverness flaps, also called tashes, and the detail on the cuffs are different. Inverness flaps are the tabs, usually decorated with braiding and three buttons, which hang down below the waistline.

The PC only has such flaps on the rear of the jacket.

I appreciated this post, I knew exactly what you were referencing but not the nomenclature. Tashes or Inverness flaps, thanks for the lesson.

Thank you for clarification. the photos I saw on google didn't really show off the Tashes.
