What do you think of this fabric?

I am thinking of this fabric for a Semi-Modern kilt. I am going to order up a swatch to see how it feels...hope it is heavy enough for a kilt.

I like the colors but like you said, you'll have to hope the cotton is heavy enough for a kilt.

Actually its 100% wool so if its anything above 10 or so ounces it should b fine.

Different than a normal tartan or solid. If the fabric weight is to you liking, best of fortune with the project.

It sort of reminds me of the plaid in "Braveheart"... nice earth tones.

Just watch out when you pleat it that it does not get the dreaded law chair effect

Actually, it reminds me of one of the Antigonish unidentified plaids. It is very close.

Very nice looking cloth - simple pattern, earthy colors. They have a toll free number. Why not give them a call and ask them the weight? Hope you'll post pics when you finish.
