| | | Why I Love Polyviscose Kilts
So yesterday I'm ten hours on the road driving back from Tucson. Took longer because I shopped my way home. Had a lot of in and outs of the car, meaning my kilt pleats got new angles of creasing every time.
It was HOT all the way home, well over 100 degrees F even with the car air on, so between my weight and never quite getting the peats perfect my kilt took a LOT of abuse.
Wore my USA Kilts Casual in Red Gordon.
By the time I finally got home it was a mess. I've NEVER seen a kilt with worse or more pleat creases.
Let it hang out over night and today took the steamer to it and in a few short steamer passes the pleats were back, sharp, no creases at all.
Sure beats ironing!
Polyviscose material is bulletproof.

Yep! I couldn't agree more. I love the stuff, too. I just hang mine in the bathroom when I shower. That takes out all the unwanted creases and wrinkles like a charm.

I have to agree, bulletproof! My USAKilts semi-trad is my most often worn kilt. Wore it 20 hours straight at the Kazoo games, visiting and then the drive home. Hung it up and by morning half the wrinkles were gone already.

Now, now, there's PV and there's PV. I handled some PV at Joann's that, umm, wasn't quite like the "good stuff" produced by Marton Mills. To the best of my information and belief after reasonable inquiry, Rocky and Kelly (USAK) use Marton Mills. Quality makers using quality products---that's the ticket, right there.

Get a inexpensive white king size pillow case. Place it over the steering wheel when out of the car to keep the wheel cooler. When you are ready to get in the car, sweep your pleats, take the pillow case and wrap around your pleats and hold in front as you slide into the car seat.

You should do a video of this procedure.

The only drawback with my pv kilt is that I find it hard to sweep and tell if the pleats are straight or not after getting into the truck, that where the towel trick comes in.
