    Bear Kilts

Has anybody seen or heard from Terry at Bear Kilts lately ? I have not seen any announcements of his demise so I'm curious.
The last e-mail I recieved from him was dated 9-10-05 and repeated phone calls get his voicemail. E-mail regarding the $500US I sent him for either 1 8-yard kilt in the California tartan or 2 4-yarders as he offered have gone ignored / unanswered. I chose the 2 kilt option and sent the measurements for myself and my friend Amber (she'd look sooooo good in a kilt and hers is supposed to be 15" in height ! ).
    So .... Where's the Bear ?

And Rocky just posted on the Kilt Review board that Bear is still hard at work sewing kilts, just at home now.

Not sure why he would chose not to respond to paid customers during sewing breaks.

You want a California Tartan kilt? We need to talk, ASAP. I messaged Bear about a california tartan kilt, just because He asked me about it a few months ago, but haven't heard back.

    disappointed

I remember reading that now-locked thread sometime last year when I was researching my family tartan. I didn't believe it but now it's happening to me.
I really did think he was a nice guy.

I thought this had all been sorted out in the previous thread Ron.

Bear has moved his operation back home and does NOT have the internet hooked up yet. Our major phone company just got off of a 5 month lock out (I know all to weell as my wife works for them) and are still a bit backlogged.

As anyone that works out of their home can tell you, you usually only take housework breaks from work. I know that on weeks where I work from home, there are days I never leave the house.

So if the paid customers really want to get a hold of Bear, they are better to call the number (a cell) on his site. Emails and posts on forums may not get to him right this minute.

I am sure Bear could go to the library and check his email, but considering he has no vehicle, is the 3 hour trip (1 there by bus, 1 checking out emails and posts, 1 back) really time well spent for people waiting for their order?

Calll his cell if you really need to get a hold of him, and the rest of us can maybe stop speculating and let the man do his work.

    From Raphael:

I can confirm a few things regarding Bear and Bear Kilts:

    1. He is still alive and kicking

    2. He moved the shop back to his home.

    3. He doesn't have internet hook up.

    4. Bear Kilts is still in business and he intends to keep his promises.

    5. The Phone number is still in working order.

Obviously, Cameron missed the other thread, or he wouldn't have posted here. Was trying to help him get up to speed, and Bear....though I still don't understand why Bear hasn't connected with his customers. Didn't know the phone company lock out piece until just now.

Seems more the time for reassurance and honest delivery estimates from the craftsman, rather than silence and expectations that concerned clients will call. But that's me, not Bear. He certainly has the right to conduct his business any way he wants to.

Slinking away with my tail down vowing to eliminate efforts to be helpful where I'm not an involved party. Me Culpa.

    closed thread...

I think it's time to close this thread, since both Colin and Raphael have answered the question as to Bears whereabouts.

    Regards,

    Todd
