That is great, thank you for that. I will be using it just as soon as I have downloaded it.

I've just downloaded and read it and it's just as much a pleasure to read as your book with even more colour plates (excellent work, Dave) of beautiful kilts and tartans. Many thanks Barb, to you and Matt for sharing this, it is all the inspiration I need.

Just an update. This is now available to download from the Scottish Tartans Museum site:
http://scottishtartans.org/boxpleat.html

Same two files (low res and high res versions). You just don't have to deal with the annoying adverts from the savefile.com page. :-)

That's the advantage of a downloadable pdf - the cost of printing color in a book is astronomical!!

Barb and Matt: Thank you. And, thank you for making such a high quality supplement for no charge.

I was so excited to see the post yesterday. I had to wait until this morning to print it off and dug right into it (work be darned). I was disappointed however with all sorts of missing digits in the measurements. Then I realized that I'd opened and printed the pdf using Foxit instead of Adobe. The world is whole again. I post this as a warning to everyone else.

Okay, I noticed one (very small) thing. Both the Acknowledgments and Introduction pages are numbered page "3" at the bottom of their pages. The Table of Contents has them correct.

Other than that, I've skimmed the directions, and they look fantastic! They've already answered a few of my questions, and enlightened me to some other parts of the box pleat I hadn't thought about. I will be putting them to good use starting this weekend.

I've actually fixed that and updated the cover as well, which inadvertently had a clunkier type layout (I forgot to replace the image in InDesign before I exported the pdf...). If you want the version with the fixed page # and the correct cover (the one that's like the image in the post), you can download it again. Sorry!
