    eBay fabric store

Any opinions, comments? I like the look of this wool, myself, and for the price, I might get some. If it gets any sort of recommendation.

A thick to medium thick tightly woven wool with heavily brushed nap giving the fabric a smooth finish with no warp or weft yarns visable. Used for jackets, coats and blankets. Weight approx. 1 1/2 lbs per yard.
I don't think that would be a good idea.

Just search ebay for "wool tartan" or even just "tartan" or "wool plaid" and limit the search to the fabric section in the crafts group.

Just that I've been looking at their stuff myself. Would make a nice old military weight kilt. Solid colours, limited to maybe 7 yards.

Another place you might look is pool table suppliers. The billiard cloth on some tables is a very nice 26 oz. wool and comes in some very nice colors. There was a thread about this a while back but I can't find it now.

Looks like I've found a place to get wool for a cloak, at least! <$9 per yard is a lot better than $17+!
