| | | It's official: I'm now a skirt maker
Yesterday, my wife and I went to the fabric store. While I was waiting for the fabric to be cut, the associate asked if I sewed. Usually, I say "Yes, I am a kiltmaker" Kiltmaking is a manly hobby/past time, isn't it? But now I am making a skirt for my wife and all I can say now is "Yes, I sew." My wife pipes up, but he doesn't cook. Like that's going to make me feel good about sewing.
When I start sewing it was only for kiltmaking and jacket modifications. I am now in the process of making a skirt for my wife. The only thing that makes it a kilt type skirt is that I am adding a few pleats (12) to the front and 12 to the back to ease the bottom of the skirt for flaring while walking. I am happy to make her a skirt as I think it will come out well. Just hope my manhood can stand the sewing/skirt thingy.
So, now I am a skirt maker. Now!

I hope the skirt comes out well also. Maybe a pic or two when finished?
...and that was funny Ted. No offense, of course, ChattanCat. |

ChattanCat, what kind of man can't cook . Bless that wonderful woman to be seen in public with you. Seriously, I do most of the cooking 'cause I love to do it (I control the scraps). When I started the kilt I'm on now my wife gave me a "tolerant" look. Just tell her next time you're leaving her at least one passtime.

My wife doesn't cook. Except Microwave popcorn. And she makes me do that half the time. She doesn't sew, or do dishes or laundry, kinda annoying sometimes.

On of our male Scottish Country dancers made the most beautiful Jerkin. It was his first sewing attempt and it is perfect. He's an engineer and says that sewing is just an extension of engineering....so for all you sewers out there, you're actually fabric engineers.

Barb T. comes to mind, as well as, The Wizard of BC... Though Wally has a background in the sciences too, I think.
And don't forget, you can always cook the fish with bacon grease if they insist on red wine.

I stay home because day care cost too dang much. I run errands for my mom's restaurant, which gets me out of the house, but beyond that...
I'm stuck unable to buy a kilt at the moment, if SWK had gift certificates (its says they are available, but I can't find them to buy them) I could have found a way to buy one, but alas...
