Kilt maker needed...

If you still haven't found a kilt maker I would suggest MacHummel from Canadian Casual Kilts. He has worked with some rip stop Camo for quite a few kilts. He may be able to help you out. PM him and I'm sure he'll give it a go.

Actually he doesn't have his kilt yet because I haven't finished it. First we had to wait for the fabric to arrive. Then a couple of e-mails back and forth to determine the proper direction of the Camo pattern.

The fabric has been washed and cut into widthwise sections. I have laid out the pleat markings. But that's as far as I've gotten.

We have lost two of our three seamstress this last month. One to a serious back injury. (Her sewing career is over) and the third is off on vacation.

I'm right now trying to finish all the in-work kilts from before the ladies left and then I'll be right back on his kilt.

Whilst we are waiting -

I made a camo kilt - a three colour civillian dpm, and because it looked as though it should be worn with the warp vertical I cut it across the cloth and joined the pieces.

You seem to have done the same, if my take on 'widthwise sections' is correct.

Would it be the case that all/most camo fabrics are correct with the warp vertical?

I just bought 5 metres of blue camo on eBay, and was wondering how best to make it up, but I suspect that it is going to be necessary to cut it into strips like the first one.

Here is the camoflauge pattern being discussed. This is my X-Kilt. (Made by my wife) The pattern might just be running sideways. The clothing on Crye's web site shows the the darker areas running horizonatly.
The belt is a Blawkhawk BDU in OD and the sporran is a SWK Nightstalker
