    Most Popular Kilt Model

I've been visiting many different kilt makers' websites lately and I've developed a simple question...

Is there a single reputable kilt maker in the world that does not have a picture of Hamish on their website or in their store??? And if so, why in the name of William Wallace would you not post one?!?!

Seeing the famed Hamish on websites for everything from Cornish tartans to American kilt makers, this international model must be drumming up sales unheard of in modern times.

Mr. Hamish - I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting you, but I've met millionaire musician's, members of Congress, Governors, etc...and it seems you can top them all!

I know he is proudly displayed on the USA Kilt site, Stillwater Kilts, and the Freelander Sporran site.

Then so far, the answer to my question is no. And those are three of the sites I've seen him on. There are MANY more.

I can think of one Kilt maker without a Hamish Pic.

    Kathy Lare

But she does have a picture of Ron aka Riverkilt

Freedom Kilt Does have Hamish though

I don't know that Hamish has a kilt from Ms. Kathy.

Not to take anything away from Hamish (if that is even possible) but Ron is also used on Amerikilts advertising. Their show booth features a large poster of Ron, usually front and center.

To take nothing away from either model, Riverkilt is a national model whereas Hamish is international. Both, I am sure where asked for their likeness to be shown in advertisement. As customers first to company spokesmen even with their known affiliations with other (the competitor) companies. These two gentlemen are much respected ambassadors in our chosen obsession and we all are very fortunate to be able to seek their first hand advice or just have a general chat. There is room at the top for two models.

I suppose there are a number of ways to get one's photo published. I the best way possible is when it's random, unsolicited and at least neutral in aesthetic value. All of the other ways could be found as not utterly objective. That's still OK. As it could have me in it!
