    New Machine!

Scored a beautiful old Brother hand crank sewing machine from the Salvation Army last night for $40.00!
It runs easily through 1/8" shoe leather and has a foot lift of just over 1/2"!
That's my machine for making Sporganisers in the evening.

If you got the machine I'm thinking of, it is fully adjustable and you can get the foot clearance up to almost 2 inches. Longer needles should be the only thing you need to find.
My Idustrial Phaff has had the clearance set to 1". I am using no.110 needles.
If it is straight stitch only, you can also get a walking foot for it ant it will go through leather like butter.
I'm very jealous Terry. I used a machine like it on my boat for sails and general canvas work and have always regretted having to let it go.

I guess that about sews it up. :P
Carry on as if you knew what you were doing, and you were in you're right state of mind.

Those things are "warriors" when it comes to the thick stuff. Scoring that baby for $40 is a wonder!

I have one now that I hooked a belt and motor to. I used an electric foot-pedal from an old Brother machine. As long as the thing's oiled and maintained, it runs like it's new.

We may need to hit Steve's place in the middle of the night for the needles however.
