Does this look like a decent pattern? I'm not doing anything until I have Barb's book, but I like to have a variety of resources for anything I do.

Yup, it's a good pattern set. I have it and used the kilt instructions before I got Barbs book. Well worth the money for what you get.

I used it, also has a pattern for a PC Jacket, instructions are pretty good. I used it in conjunction with an article in Threads Magazine, So you're going to wear a kilt and Barbs book. They all work each one helps you understand a different way of construction to help you develop your own.
The pattern even has instructions on how to knot argyle hose. I think it's worth having in your library

Do a google search on "make a kilt" and other combinations like that. I think you'll be surprised at what you turn up. There are a dozen pretty decent sets of instructions out there for free.

I wouldn't bite off a project with $170 worth of material going on those, but I'd for sure tackle something that cost me ten bucks.

The pattern is great for the Prince Charlie jacket, and the kilt instructions are OK if you have a simple tartan and a straight body shape. If the latter two are not true, the instructions aren't really adequate for a first-time kiltmaker, which is actually why I wrote my book!

I agree with Barb. We've made the PC. But since I'm not straight up and down we modified the kilt using Barb's instructions. Wait for her book to come.
