Trim for top band of Black Watch kilt

Does anyone know a source for buying solid color trim that is used on a military kilt?
I'm doing an alteration on one that has bright green trim for the top band.
The man would rather have black trim. It's slightly less than an inch wide. I've seen flashes made of similar, but wider trim (or braid). The wider trim would be easier to manage.

I've heard of people just covering the green trim by sewing a length of plain black bias tape over the green.
Inside me is a thin woman screaming to get out. But I can usually shut the b*tch up with chocolate!

I have the Cameron and Black Watch from WPG. The trim works fine as is with the Black Watch but I covered it with black bias tape on the Cameron.

Thanks for the good ideas and the link to Crazycrow.com. I found some wide black twill tape at mjtrim.com that might work. It's cotton, though. I'm hoping I can find the same in wool, but if not, cotton might work. Bias tape is a good idea, too.
    Thanks, guys!

    Wool Twill Tape is available.

I haven't delt with the new owners, but in the past, the service was good. They specialize in esoteric supplies for re-enactors and costumers.
