| | | Another sad shipping story
I ordered a tweed Argyll jacket from them and here is The E-mail I sent them regarding shipping Quote:
I recieved my jacket last thursday,I am really impressed with
the fit and finish, it is a beatiful jacket and I eagerly await the arrival of the waistcoat.
I do have a problem with your shipping methods.
I had ordered a Kilt last March from you which you shipped at my
request by Royal Air Mail and recieved it in a few days with no problems or custom charges.
I requested twice on the phone and once in an email
that the Jacket also be shipped by Royal Air Mail if at all possible.
Fex-X acts as a customs collection agent.
I was Informed that it could not be shipped that way
due to weight and size restrictions. As I wanted the jacket by Christmas I agreed to have it shipped by Fed-X.
I assumed that you where shipping the jacket in a large suit box as to not fold the Jacket, and that would explain the size limit.
I was surprised to find it folded twice and shipped in small box.
Royal Air MAil restrictions state that the parcel must not exceed
2kg in weight and 900mm combined height, with, and depth
The box you shipped me weighed 1.2kg and was a combined size of 880mm
So would please explain to me why it could not be shipped the way I wanted as the package was within Royal Air Mail limits.
Dealing with Fed-x required two e-mails, three phone calls ,one fax
and custom charges.
By not honoring my shipping request cost me time and additional expense.

Hi Joe,
I'm sorry that we weren't able to accomodate your request on this occasion. I think the problem was that our systems didn't give that option on shipping leading the staff to believe that it wasn't possible. I shall look into this and try to ammend things so that we can meet such requests wherever possible in future.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
Adele
| I plan on saving their reply and attaching it to any future order I may make and advise anyone else to do the same

One of the managers of kiltstore.net (Nick) posts here sometimes so you may get an answer from him.

| I have a 6yard kilt and a this jacket from them Both are excellent in quailtyand fit
My other kilt is a five yard from scottishkilts.net and the one from the kiltstore is my favorite in in fit and finish
the kilt store staff has always been helpful and they answer their toll free phone line
Like I said I will attach their reply to my next order to insure things being shipped by Royal Mail
If they will not ship that way I shop elsewhere

Anxioously awaiting a package from Scottishkilts.net/Tartanweb.net...I hope that they manage to send it via the appropriate carrier and avoid FedEx.
I'll let you all know if and when (thirteen days till Christmas...) it gets here.
You would think that all of the kilt merchants would have this figured out by now, wouldn't you?
Best

Hmmmm. I ordered a tweed jacket and waist coat from them one November or December, and it never arrived. And it never arrived. And it never arrived. . . .
I hounded them for months, but got no response.
Then, in frustration, I did it again. They actually delivered the jacket--a very nice one, I must say--in December a year later! I never got the waistcoat. I ordered one that matched from another source.
Be aware that they may--or may not--ship in this lifetime if you order.
Otherwise, I think they're great guys.
