The economy shipping is usually fairly fast. Beware, though, things can get held up (in customs and such) and can take 20 days or more.

But I've always received my items within 12 days or so, and I live on the west coast of the US.

I ordered my Seton Modern from Scotweb and they offered Free Shipping w/
the order, but it would add and additional amount of time to my recieving the Kilt.

I was willing to pay the additional 27.75{don't have the pound key} to get the kilt faster and not have the Jones hang around longer than necessary!

Gah, now time for me to jones on economy shipping. Just hit the trigger on an order of fabric for two kilts I'll be making over the next few months. Jonesing for fabric to make kilts for someone else, talk about a double jones....

Not to sound like a ScotWeb cheerleader, but they seem to be the only web based seller that offers shipping of kilts via Royal Mail. It seems everybody else subjects you to ParcelForce and other services that result in high shipping costs and high customs/duty tarriffs. "Yea Scotweb!"

I have to agree with The Barry about Scotweb's economy shipping. I receinved a couple of kilts from them this way and everything has been quite fast and efficient. Plus, it's free and no duty to boot! It truly is a great way to get a kilt, as long as you don't need it in a hurry.

Can I just take the opportunity to mention again for anyone reading this, the Royal Mail option does indeed reduce the likelihood of import duties being applied in practice (though legally they're still due). But being untracked, it does mean that if a package goes astray it will be literally months before we can even consider replacing it, since the schedules are so unpredictable a consignment can literally take anything from a few days to several months.

In particular, we are regrettably coming to a decision we are going to have to start refusing to send any package to Canada by Royal Mail, unless the customer specifically indemnifies us against its loss. A crazy proportion of consignments are being lost by the Canadian mail delivery system, which appears to be just getting worse and worse. And of course many customers then blame us for failing to deliver. We don't see any alternative now but to remove this delivery method into Canada, unless it is at the customer's own risk (in writing). If anyone has insights or opinions about this, we'd be glad to hear them.

Well, I am in canada and not that I reeeeally surprised that the canadian postal service has been an issue..... but in regards to import tax...I mean, whether courrier or mail, I always get the tax so really, cost isn't much different that way. Canadapost charge 5$ processing fee, soto pay an extra 25$ to a courrier in possibly brokerage fees but get it in the 3 days.... that's ok with me.
