| | | Excellent Service from Scotweb
I'll admit right off the bat that my experience is bound to be unique, but it was special enough to share here anyway.
Do you know there's a thriving wild west town in Edinburgh, complete with a saloon and Wells Fargo? Take a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/momo0379/120201175/ That cantina is actually the emergency exit of our local library. I'd lived in this neighbourhood for well over a year without knowing this was here, just a 2 minute walk from my flat. So why is this important? Well, that's how I found out about Scotweb, they have their office on this little wild west street complete with an antiqued westerny looking sign. So when I decided to order a belt and buckle from Scotweb I asked if I could just stop by to pick it up and save them from paying for shipping and me from waiting for a package to arrive from just around the corner. The woman on the phone said that unfortunately they can't have anyone come in since they're not a retail establishment, but that she'd be glad to walk the package to my place when they got my order in stock, and three days later I had my new belt in hand!
By the way, that's the antique finish on that buckle which looks really sharp in person, even better than in the photos.
Thanks Scotweb!

It's all true. Our dirty little secret. We're not located in an ancient castle overlooking a misty loch, but rather in the Old Wild West. Ironic, huh? Since people are sure to ask, the reason for its existence (we believe) is that the premises used to be inhabited by a furniture shop specialising in American furniture, and they did it up to impress and amuse their customers. It must be about ten years ago they left, so it's quite impressive (for the UK) how relatively little it's been vandalised since. What's a little surprising is just how well it is done. Whoever designed it did a lot of homework and went to a lot of trouble with details. It even extends to inside our offices, which are decorated with mex-tex painted wood-and-adobe style walls and divisions, which we built ourselves around as we couldn't bear to tear them out. It's a pity we can't invite customers in, but we're up rather shaky outside stairs, and we don't have insurance cover for retail. But it's a more fun environment than your average mail order operation gets to work from.

Being a Old West enthusiast and a satisfied customer of Scotweb, I'm disappointed I'll never be able to see the establishment.
By the way Nick, I sent a question to Scotweb a few days ago concerning a possible order. I received not only a very prompt reply but a very satisfactory response to my question. As I've had nothing but good customer service from Scotweb in my previous four orders and in response to my next order, I'll continue to support your business.

Guitarmatt -
That is a very nice buckle indeed. I may have to order one for myself - though I certainly don't need any more buckles!
