Is this how all Scotweb kilts look?

Me too! In fact something like this is very much on my wish list. Unfortunately actually implementing the enhanced order progress process I have in mind will have to await certain other technical developments that we've been working on for well over a year, and we're hoping finally to have ready to launch in the first half of next year. Watch this space. And thanks for the kind and helpful feedback.

I have nothing to add, but that's never stopped me before.

This thread could have easily degenerated into an ugly mess, but it didn't. There was a complaint, some expert answers/explanations, lots of commentary, and Nick's response to the original complaint. Nobody stooped to name-calling or threats or any other junk; we've all acted like big boys. Hooray for us!

I'd like to second this. I belong to two forums online, and I'm happy to say that both are generally marked by good manners and polite conversation.

AH, yes, and I left out one word. When the body shops post, they often post a picture or two. And I think that was the part I was trying to get across. It'd be cool to see a photo of the Kilmaker's hands on the fabric, the lining being put in etc. And I do realize that would be a task...

I have found this thread very interesting and informative.
I had an issue with the edge of my Strome tank when new until I learned about the different type of weaving. After a discussion with my local kiltmaker, a light pressing with plenty of steam and hanging on a proper kilt hanger overnight solved all the problems.
As with anything new and hand made, it has to settle and this is more important on old traditional looms. I do not know how far the kilt was shipped but would not expect it to look pristine on arrival. It took several days of wearing over a few weeks for my tank to be "Run In" just like one used to have to do with a new car.

I am awaiting my new tank and expect to "Run" that in over Christmas and new Year.
