New Prices?

I've been browsing the website for around a week.
Today, I've noticed prices are higher, and are only displayed in pound sterling. I used to see them in dollars.

A 5yd kilt that was about $275 now costs about $315
Anyone else notice this?

I've also noticed that the 10% markdown appears to actually 'mark up' the original prices so that, in the end, it costs you the same with or
without.

You can change the currency using the function at upper right of page (next to shopping basket icon).

I don't see the mark-up issue you mention. I looked at 5-yarders with XMarks discount, and saw the bespoke offered at $300 marked down to $265 and change.

Then I cleared the XMarks discount (see "clear/view all offers" link at the right end of green bar) and price went back up to $300.

Perhaps you had cleared cookies at some point and lost the discount? Try clicking through again from the banner ad and see what happens. . .

Good luck!

If you already have had an account with them you may have some Scotweb points, and you cannot use both the xmts discount and cash in points at the same time. That might have been why your prices bumped back up at checkout.

I agree with sidnie that prices do not appear to have bumped recently. Actually, of all the UK sites I haunt Scotweb is the best on keeping up with changes in the GBP/US$ exchange rates as reflected in their prices. Many still try to price out items in US$ at a 2:1 exchange rate, which has not been accurate for several months now (more like 1.4:1).

I ran it through each time, after clearing the cookies.
I even ran through two different browsers (IE and Firefox, each with it's own set of cookies) and took screen captures.

I was pricing the made to measure 5 yd kilt by Balmoral.

I'll give it another shot......

edit-gave it another shot-still doesn't work correctly, IMO. The 10% 'discounted' item is marked up, then discounted, so that the price is the same

It shows the higher price marked through, and the lower price. After you pick a tartan, the prices go back up to 'normal'

Try starting out picking a tartan and then working it from there forward to the final kilt choice. It should work right that way.

Unless I'm missing something, the x-marks promotion seems to be active in both those pictures.

Yeah, just checked. The kilt in 16 oz from "Glena" weavers (I'm assuming that's the one you chose, as it looks the same and has the same wait time) costs 248.43 Euro without the discount. Hope that allays your fears!

It isn't

If you look closely, the active discount page shows a a bar near the top of the page, just below their phone number, that says 'X marks the scot discount active' and shows the marked up price, formerly 249 then marked down to the same price as the non discount page- 223 pounds

The page without the discount active just shows a price, 223, the same as the 'discounted' price

I just got back from their site and priced out some kilts I'd like to get down the road. The discount worked fine for me. In fact I was quite surprised at the great prices I was getting for 16oz. 8yd. kilts. I'll definately be using them in the future. I hope the problem your having sorts out.
