I'm very disappointed! I sent an email out Monday as soon as your site went up and I just got an email saying it hasn't been delivered yet.
Since I can't contact you via email ( ) I will post it here so you know what's going on. My server is in England though I'm based in the US and I occasionally get this message so I'm not sure if it's yours or mine.
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 48 hours on the queue on bellamy.uk-noc.com.
The message identifier is: 1K3Fjv-0003Ao-9F
The subject of the message is: Test site perusal...
The date of the message is: Mon, 2 Jun 2008 15:30:29 -0400
The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is:
competition@scotweb.co.uk
No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for
some time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the message
remains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,
and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.

Hi WallaceGal,
I'm very sorry about your problems contacting us. As per my posting here the other day, we were hit by a major incident that killed all our web sites and email for several days. If you're interested, see here:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06...a_center_fire/
I'm glad to say things seem to be working again now, and as far as I know email too should be working normally again. But please feel free to PM me if you have any problems.
I'll be making an announcement tomorrow that we're holding the contest open a little longer, since the site was down when some folk may have wanted to submit last minute entries.
Sorry again for your disappointment. I assure you... we were too! :-)
Thanks
Nick

Nick,
Spoken like a gentleman. I'm sure all the fine members of X Marks the Scot appreciate your sense of fair play. It says much of how you run Scotweb!
Cheers

I'm sorry if I sounded mean. I hope I didn't. That wasn't my intent. Disappointed yes, but you have no control over how your servers respond when you don't own them so that's very understandable. I just wanted someone to know what was going on in case it was your server and not mine.
I'll try resending it, see if it goes through this time. And thanks for your response

Hope things are going smoothly, server-wise and all now
Was just checking for any contest updates, and I entered for my Better Half (Scratchy) and have my finners and toesies still crossed (Wish I could figure out how to quit tripping and falling, tho )

Yes, sorry for the delay, mostly due to the problems described above. But we in fact have meetings in the diary scheduled for tomorrow and Tuesday, after which we should be in a position to announce the winner. Watch this space.
