Scotweb order "checking" status????

I placed an order for a mini kilt from Scotweb on the in 8th and my order status is still checking.

I have a question to anyone who's ordered from them before-- what is checking is and how long does it usually take?

Thanks in advance..

I ordered tartan material from them back in December. My order was in "checking" for over a month (maybe more like two months). I don't know what their definition is for that status. In my particular case I suspect they did not have enough material in stock and had to wait for another run. I got the order but it took a while.

Jenna, I would not worry too much about the order. Scotweb is very reliable, but they are not necessarily fast. Scottish attire--even girls' clothes--is not a fast order item for the most part. I suspect that "checking" means the order is in process while they get whatever it takes to get the order going and delivered.

Have you tried to contact them?

The most important attribute for Scottish ordering is patience. It's really nothing to wait many months for a custom kilt.

If I had any, I would lend it to you.

I recently ordered a 5 yard kilt from them, and the order literally sat in "checking" until the day it shipped, I received without any problems and by their promised delivery date but I too thought it was odd that the status never really changed. But the process of working with them was wonderful any questions I sent them by email were promptly replied to, as Jim said i wouldnt worry.

Mike, thescot and sanddog, thanks for your replies, I guess I just need to not worry about it till it ships. All the scotweb kilts I've seen on XMTS are awesome, I'm sure mine will be the same.

Hi Jenna,

Sorry for the slow reply. I'm just back from a few days away (on an amazing trip to the Hebrides, sourcing Harris Tweeds... I'll share more about this on the forum soon...)

The replies you've had so far are basically correct, and we know this can be a bit confusing which is not good. This is an aspect of our internal systems, and can mean any number of things until the order is finalised. Now that I'm back I'll look into your own order and get back to you with details in a PM.

But fyi we are also intending to improve our order status communications as soon as we can. Our tech team's main project currently is working on a full rewrite of our back-end systems which we hope to complete this summer, as our current system is reliable but too constraining. Once that's in place we should be able to introduce a much more transparent and helpful process showing more detail about orders going through our systems.

Cheers

Nick

Thanks for the information Nick. By the way, the Kidd tartan I got from your shop is excellent. Thank you.
