    County Cavan -- Sabres Colors

I stopped into to see Rocky and Kelly to get my US Bicentennial kilt made up, and I showed him the kilt I had been working on. Rocky took me back to show me the different ways to pleat the US Bic kilt, and on the floor I see the following kilt:

and proclaimed that is the closest I have ever seen to a Sabres tartan. It is actually County Ccrest Cavan by Marton Mills. It was one of Rocky's kilts, but Kelly didn't like it so he didn't wear it all that often. I checked with my wife and she loved it, it reminds her of the college colors of our alma mater, so Rocky and I worked out the details and I added kilt number nine to the collection.

    with jersey

Another great visit with Rocky and Kelly and the new kilt will certainly keep me from jonesing for 8 weeks while the US Bicentennial kilt is getting made.

It DOES match pretty well, Keith! I think I'd untuck the jersey though...

I hope you guys made it to Ikea OK.

    Nice looking kilt
I guess making one wasn't good enough?

The directions were great, we got there just fine. Then headed to Longwood gardens, although we waited in traffic for an hour, it was well worth it.

The kilt looks great with the jersey. I am somewhat skeptical that the jersey untucked would not look right.

I'm gonna be the third to say untuck the jersey! But it looks great. Nice score.

How did you decide to pleat the US Bicent Tartan? Any pics of the different ways he showed you?
