    A Dressed up Semi-Trad

I realized that I did not have any dressy photos of my Semi-Traditional Black Stewart Kilt, so decided to rectify that today so here are couple shots of a dressy Semi-Trad. proof that these kilts can go just about anywhere and fit in.

Yes Frank it is, that would be my one complaint about this kilt.

The piper at my wedding wore Black Stewart. I always thought it was a fine looking tartan. Nice look McMurdo.

    Looking good, Glen.
I've worn my USA semi-trad to church when the weather was rather wet for a wool kilt and it is entirely acceptable as a dressy kilt.
Like you, my only minor criticism is the rugged fringing at the bottom of the kilt rather than a smooth selvedge or hem.

Given the nature of the material, I think the fringe on the bottom is a great idea. The weaver in my living history group explained to me why the material can't be properly selvedged. I don't remember the details, as I'm not a weaver and it only half way made sense to me, but given the alternative- to hem it- I think the fringing is a great idea.
