I've worked out a plan with our friend Mark Ragnone to have the EMS Tartan woven as a special run. Mark is going to collect orders from his fellow EMS workers and I would propose the same thing to members up here on XMARKS.
If you would like a kilt in the EMS tartan, the price will be $580 for an 8 yard (13 oz) kilt. ($615 for a 9 yarder for people with hips over 47"). The price for a 5 Yard kilt (also 13 oz) would be $360 ($395 for people with hips over 47"). Matching Flashes would be $25. A Fly Plaid would be $100.
The CURRENT plan is that we collect orders until our deadline (
August 14th) and at that point, we order enough material to cover those orders. I don't believe we'll be ordering much 'extra fabric', but that may change, depending on interest. This will not be a 'stock tartan'. It will only be special weave.
TURNAROUND time on these kilt WILL BE 4 - 5 months, since this is a custom weave.
A percentage of the profit will go to a charity (probably EMS related), but Mark isn't sure which charity he's going to be donating to at this point.
