    Fabric Weight

I am curious, I know when we speak about wool we talk in fabric weight, 16oz, etc. Does PV has fabric weight as well? I thought about getting a phillibeg or Traditional USA kilt but I don't want the fabric to be too light. I have a few sportkilts that I use for bumming around the house and wearing to the gym for working out, but I wouldn't wear them out and about because they are VERY light weight fabric. almost like T-shirt weight. so does PV have a fabric weight and what is your experience with the weight of the fabric of USA'a kilts?

btw I am already CERTAIN I will be buying a premiere wool kilt in the Morgan tartan soon, just need to save up money for my move to the UK for work.

I could be wrong, but I thought that the PV that both Bear and USA Kilts use was around an 11 oz fabric. I thought I remembered this coming up before.

    Hey Bishop,

Yeah... Colin's right. The Poly Viscose is an 11 OZ machine washable fabric (with a teflon coating). For comparison, I'd estimate that the weight of the Cotton Poly sportkilts I've seen is about 8 oz.

I'm sure it has a fabric weight because, well, everything has a weight. It only need be weighed. As for what that would be for poly/viscose, I have no idea.

But on the www.bearkilts.com web site Bear speaks of the PV being lightweight, and intentionally so. I took this into consideration when ordering a kilt from Bear - I ordered the 8-yard version instead of 4-yard because I was wanted a little more weight in the kilt.

Thanks Rocky, I figured you were busy and I didn't want to keep pestering you with questions, especially since I haven't actually bought anything yet! LOL
but thanks for the quick response...I am thinking I may have to place an order here shortly....
