German Heritage & Firefighters

I recently received my German Heritage Casual.
Sooner than expected. As I know that they are crafted one at a time I very much appreciate that.
IMHO a beautiful tartan.

GH is similar (from a distance) to the Firefighters Memorial.

I have both.

I bought the German Heritage in honor of my maternal grandfather, born in Saxony, Germany.
He immigrated to the USA (to escape an arranged marriage so the family story goes) and then served in the USMC in France in WWI (SSgt Interpreter).
A German-born Devil Dog.

I bought the Firefighters Memorial for the sentiment behind it. An old schoolmate is a Fire Chief.
Another friend is a volunteer fireman. When I showed the tartan to the latter and explained the design to him it brought tears to his eyes, and he thanked me for wearing it.

Cool. So, when are you going to post pictures of the kilts? I am especially interested in seeing the German Heritage Casual.

That's where a bulk of my family emmigrated from as well, so it REALLY is the inspiration for the tartan.

Me too! Mine ain't going to be here for a while though...

As for the German Heritage: my wife's sister has lived in southern Germany for over 30 years. I "gave" her German husband a Sport Kilt last year to wear while vacationing in Hawaii. He refused to give it back. ...I can see him in a USAK GH casual in the not too distant future!
