    Gone and done it

Just sent off an order to Rocky for a traditional in Hamilton tartan. A 3 week wait but that's easy to tolerate. When I talked to him on the phone he was trying to fix his industrial sewing machine. Looking forward to this. My mother asked why I don't get one in Hamilton since I already have a MacNeil so this should make her day.

I was just over at the shop and he seemed a little frustrated with the new machine, but we didn't get a chance to talk about it. He & Kelly were nose down in their work with a huge workload in front of them so I got out of there without a lot of chit-chat today.

Yeah, the machine was giving him problems, worked yesterday but not today and he was trying to fix it. He said there's about a 3 week wait right now so they're obviously extremely busy which is a GOOD thing for them.

We got the machine fixed... MAN does this thing haul A$$! Our normal machines are "upper end" home type machines. They sew about 300 stitches per minute and have a bunch of options (zig zags, patterns, buttonholes, monograming, etc). This thing sews 6000 (no I didn't add a 0 by accident) stitches per minute. You physically have to STEER the material into the machine! It'll be good for our Philabegs, but I think it'll be too fast for our Traditionals and Premiers (needs to be more "exacting").

    Hey Rocky,

Question about construction. At what point of the construction do you sew down the edges of the pleats? I was playing around with some material one day, setting pleats and all, and I couldn't really figure out when you would sew the pleats. I don't mean the fell, I mean the stitch then runs down the length of each pleat. Hopefully this isn't some sort of "trade secret"
