    Great service...

A few days ago I wrote a thread about my upcoming casual kilt from USA Kilts. I had ordered a MacDonald tartan (mostly because of the ties with Henderson.) Well, Rocky called me this afternoon and informed me that the tartan was not up to his expectations, and he had some concerns about possible complications down the line. He presented me with a couple of options. I chose to go with a different tartan (it's not like I don't have dozens of different tartans floating around my head at any given moment! ) I went with the Gunn tartan (mostly, like the MacDonald, because of the ties with Henderson.) I actually had a tough time originally deciding between the two. So, it wasn't TOO difficult a choice. I just wanted to take a moment to thank Rocky for his attention to detail, and for giving me the oppurtunity to decide what I would rather do! Hear Here!

Thanks for the post Brad. That's not the reason we called, but we'll thank you anyway.

As a small point (to give credit where credit is due), it was Kelly making the kilt who wasn't comfortable with it. I wouldn't have been either if I was making it myself... it's just that Kelly happened to be making this one. I just made the phone call and talked Brad through the list of other tartans.

Either way... I'm glad we came up with an acceptable solution.

Oh I know it isn't, Rocky. But, I wanted to post this, as this sort of thing is what everyone should know about. It helps when making decisions etc. It just meant a great deal to me, and I wanted to share.

This helps a lot of us as I was just deciding on whether to order from Rocky and Kelly myself. This helped make up my mind. Right after the first of the year (to give them time to recover from the holidays!) I will be placing my order... Thanks Brad!

Well, if it helps anyone decide whether or not to order from Rocky and Kelly, let me toss in my 2 cents.
I have been to their store twice, and they are just good people. No other way to say it. Luckily I only live about 20 minutes away, so I could visit before making any purchase. I know I am wary of ordering from strangers over the internet, and you should be too. But, they have nothing but good reviews from the folks here and I know you will be pleased with your kilt.
I have a casual from them and hopefully in the not too distant future, I will be ordering a traditional 5 yarder.

Its always a hassle choosing tartans from computer swatches, and kiltmakers are always at the mercy of the mill's output.

I've learned that whenever I have a question about a tartan or a cloth I can call Rocky and he'll give me the straight dope.

And, he often volunteers info that I have no clue about so I can make an informed decision and not wind up in that, "You never told me" place.

    Great to have that trust.

I ordered a replacement belt from USA Kilts on Monday. It arrived today (Thursday).

Excellent service, given the season and all...

    Yes, it did.

And once my weight stabilizes, I'm going to be placing a couple of orders...
