Re: My very first kilt ever!
i am still brand new to this but learned new years eve that i will toss out the sporran chain in favor of a strap (on the way from stillwater). i like your kilt choice. i have been thinking about campaigning for a usa casual kilt in american heritage for my wedding anniversary.

I'll let you know how I like it. And, I'll post pics when I figure out how. After I get it, of course.

Re: My very first kilt ever!
Welcome to the forum, you'll learn a lot here. I have 3 USA Casuals and a 5 yard wool kilt from Rocky. So 4 of my 7 kilts are from USA Kilts.
My suggestion, forget the elastic flashes after you get kilt hose. I haven't worn any of my flashes after getting garter ties. They are so much more comfortable and my wife has learned how to knit them.

Re: My very first kilt ever!
Well, it just came in the mail. A couple days after I placed the order, I asked Rocky to change it to include the rush and to correct some sizes. The kilt maker was Natalie Fletcher from USA Kilts, and I must say, she did a superb job. The kilt is incredibly beautiful, comfortable, and fits well. Since this is my first kilt, I have no idea if I'm wearing it correctly. The pleats are in the back, but I'm not sure if I have the kilt pin in the right spot, or if the sporran is hanging to low or not, or if I have it "squared away". I ordered the kilt on 12/31/11, changed the order to include rush on 1/3/12, the kilt was completed on 1/12/12, shipped on 1/13/12, and using standard delivery option, arrived on 1/17/12. For the record, it is a Casual Kilt with velcro and belt loops, no logo. American Heritage Tartan. Rocky, if you are reading this, I'm definitely going to order another in semi-traditional, Irish Heritage Tartan as soon as I can afford it!!! Pictures to follow shortly, as soon as somebody teaches me how to upload them to this site.

Re: My very first kilt ever!
Congratulations on the new kilt!!!
To get a photo on XMTS first go to photobucket.com and open an account there (free).
Upload your photos to that website first. When you hover your mouse pointer over the photo you will see a drop down list which includes an img code (image) link. Click on the code to copy it and paste it in your message.
Do a preview to make sure it is there. It's pretty simple if you follow those steps which I am pretty sure I have right subject to moderator corrections of course.

This young man is wearing his first kilt as well.
Look at Scottish guys wearing kilts - you could look at them and laugh, but the way they carry themselves, how can you? If you believe in it, that's what makes it cool.Andre Benjamin - American Rapper (formerly known as Dre) Songwriter and Musician
