    New British Columbia Semi-Traditional

A number of months back, Colin made me aware of Fraser and Kirkbright and their clearance tartans. They had 3 metres left of the BC tartan. Given that this is where I was born, raised and still live, I thought it an appropriate choice. I subsequently ended up also purchasing both the Macbitseach tartan and RCMP tartan from Mr. Kirkbright. The latter two are still in my closet awaiting the day when I can afford to have them sent off.

I thought since the BC tartan was the first I bought, it was appropriate that it be the first one made into a kilt. After a lot of consideration, reading the contents of these boards and a couple of recommendations, I sent it off to Rocky for fabrication.

I picked it up last week. To say I am thrilled is an understatement. It is beautiful. My fleet/herd/gaggle/murder of kilts up to now consists of one of Bear's earliest casuals, a SWK Irish National I picked up from Zardoz and a SWK Weathered Lamont. This is my first real true wool custom made kilt.

Rocky and Kelly did a magnificent job! It is something I will wear with pride for a great many years. And the quality of craftsmanship ensures that I will be sending more material in their direction in the future.

    Thanks very much Rocky!

    No Teasing

I agree, in this digital age telling everone you got a new kilt without a picture is like listening to AM radio in the middle of Nebraska. If you've never experienced it you're lucky. O'Neille
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. --William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

Sounds great, I will have to get a look at that kilt one of these days. When are the other two being made up?

"Tomorrow" ended up being 2.5 months later. Sorry about that. I finally got my wife to take some photos. They are in no way representative of how nice this kilt actually is! I love it.

Photos in the photo section, oddly enough.

As to your question Colin, I've sent one off to Steve Ashton and I'm saving the other while I save up my nickels to send east.
