NEW USAK "Premier Line" of Kilts...

Hey Guys...

We're going to be coming out with a new "high end" line of kilts... our "Premier Line". We've opened accounts with a few mills in the UK (House of Edgar and Strathmore among others) and now have access to high quality wools.

The way we build the kilts is a little more complex on our Premier line than our Poly Viscose Traditionals. Also, they're part machine sewn and part hand sewn. The price is going to be $250 (labor) PLUS Material cost (generally about $200 to $250)... overall around $450 to $500. These are the "tanks" that you're used to seeing on bagpipers.

The only thing that will change with these is the turn around time and having to quote each kilt price individually (at least at first). For obvious rea$on$, we can't keep wool in stock at $50/yard. We order the material when you place the order so we're at the mill's mercy until we GET the material. The plus side is that we can get MANY different tartans (including ALL of the Irish counties, SOME Irish names and Irish National) that aren't available in PV.

That bad news is that with the Ozzie dollar that prices the kilt above the equivilant locally made.

Your price would be about $800 AUD, but it sounds like the wool would be thicker.
A traditional hand sewn 13oz here would cost about $550 AUD.

I did my research for what equivalents to our "Premier line" were going for... The main barrier to entry is the cost of the material. Even when you go directly to the mills and buy in quantity, you end up paying around $50 / yard with shipping and customs. It kind of sucks for those with a poor exchange rate, but we need to eat!
