Pleats
Question...
How do the pleats hold up on the semi-traditional kilt from USA Kilts, when sitting on them while driving around town or at work?? Do they stay pleated, or do they get "all wrinkly" or out of "whack?" I just ordered my first one and was wondering how "crisp" it will look by the time I get to work when driving to and from...?

i've got a semi-trad from Rocky. that model is made from PV, so it performs WAY better than any cotton or cotton/poly based kilt. for me PV is a close second to real heavy weight wool. i wear my USA Kilt around town fairly often, and it does show wrinkles. but sitting in a car applies heat and pressure just like an iron. however, the pleats also hold fast too so i would bet the average joe won't notice the wrinkles.
being kilted everyday has forced me to learn a technique for getting into cars. it isn't perfected yet though. i enter the car butt first and as i turn to face forward, i keep my left hand on the bottom of my left thigh, when i am settled i sweep that hand forward to help 'comb' out the pleats. i do a combing sweep with the right hand afterwards. it doesn't always work so i also reach between my legs and grab the bottom back of the kilt and give the pleats a tug. leather seats make this process a whole lot easier; but i only get to enjoy such luxuries when i get to drive/ride in my mom's Odyssey.

I'll second that - Rocky and Kelly's PV semi-trads are great value for money!

The pleats themselves hold up very well. Now the problem I'm having is that unlike wool or cotton, sometimes the bottom folds up and stays there (i.e. I have to make sure that I check to make sure that the kilt is hanging down all the way around when I stand up).

Yup,
The reason I own 17 USA Kilts is because I sit for a living in an office environment. I have to go get clients in the lobby and walk them back to my office as part of the agency security. So they're always following me and its nice to have an unwrinkled backside. Same for turning my back on group to write on the board.
They do wrinkle up some depending on how long I wear them but they also hang out easy. My worst wrinkle problem is with my belly roll in the front, not the pleats.
I love the Black and Decker Gizmo hand steamer...knocks any wrinkles out at the end of the day in seconds.
