Trying to decide on a tartan

OK, I'm looking into buying another kilt. I know that's a shock around here.
Anyway, I'm wanting to get something predominantly black and red for a couple of reasons. One, because my others are mostly green, black, blueish and Two as I mentioned in another thread our local SPHL hockey team colors are red/black and I think it would look cool.

So I'm looking at the Semi-trads and trying to decide between a few. Any suggestions on tartans or pleat options, and especially any pics showing this would be appreciated.

The tartans I'm looking at are: Wallace, Stewart Royal, Stewart Black, MacQueen, and American Heritage.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

I'm not sure how easy it is to find, but Menzies has a black and red version of it's tartan. Black with red lines. If you pleated it to the stripe, to one of the red lines, then it would be mostly black in the front mostly red in the back. could look quite nice. But like I said, it's not their standard tartan, so it might be harder to come by.

Check out the Rob Roy, usually listed with MacGregor tartans. Oh, heck, here's a pic.

I must say, I've always liked the Rob Roy myself. I know it's simple and most people think of a flannal shirt or coat liner when they see that pattern. But I like it's simplicity and I believe it's one of the older tartans. I mean, it would make sense, it's so simple, why wouldn't it have been one of the first ones people thought of?

I would really recommend the Loch Ness tartan at Sport Kilt. Shes a beauty.

I have a Black Stewart Semi-Trad form USA Kilts and I think you could do worse. Here's a photo or two

Judging by the smile, I'd say your being tortured even having to wear it,...poor guy.

    Cheers
