USA Kilts Contest!

Hey Guys,

We're roughly 92% done with the new website and we need help testing and tagging!

Here's the contest:

The person who comes up with the best list (could be the longest, could be shorter with high quality individual suggestions, etc.) gets a $100 GC to the new shop (once we're up and running) OR a free Casual Kilt, whichever they choose.

Rules:

1. Whose suggestion list was 'best' is my sole discretion.
2. Suggestions must be in "list" form... make a list (either in a word doc or straight in an email or whatever) and then send it to me. Be exact (copy/paste a link if need be) about where the issue is occurring.
3. Contest runs NOW through Thursday evening. Any / all entries must be received by then. I KNOW it's a bit short notice, but we're trying to go live by Monday, so we need time to fix the bugs.

Add things to cart and go to checkout but DO NOT ENTER A REAL CREDIT CARD NUMBER AS THE CREDIT CARDPROCESSING NOW WILL WORK

EXTRA stuff...

1. TAGS: Our search function will work based on product title and on products TAGS. You can add tags to a product in the tabs section (just above the products' description). We would LOVE if you can tag any / all / some products to help improve search functionality on the site. Example: For a highland shirt, I would load in the following tags: Highland Shirt, Jacobite Shirt, puffy shirt, ghillie shirt, cream shirt, pirate shirt, etc... You get the idea. The tags should be RELEVANT to the product (think of it this way... if I was to search using XXX term, would I want this product to show up). If you're looking at a Sgian Dubh, DO NOT enter the tag "kilt" as it's not a kilt... maybe sock knife, skean doo, sgian dubh, blade, etc, BUT NOT 'Kilt'.

I don't mind if you mis-spell something... I would just ask that you make sure the word you're typing for each product DESCRIBES that product accurately.

2. REVIEWS: If you have bought a product from us and would LIKE to review it, please feel free. All we'd ask is that you be HONEST in your review. If you've never owned or seen our Casual Kilt, don't rate it. If you own our kilt belt and think it's good quality but a bit high priced, then MARK it as such... each product can be reviewed (using up to 5 stars) based on price, quality and value. Be honest!

Things we DO NOT need to hear about:

1. We are currently adding the package deals. You can look at them, but don't tell us about mistakes as we know they exist.

2. We know there are a couple PV Tartans that have small thumbnails.. we're fixing it.

3. If you look at a product and think there's an issue, please refresh your screen. The designers are working as you're looking, so if something looks REALLY funky, they may have been fixing it. Refresh your screen and see if it goes away.

WHEN YOU SEND US THE LIST, I'll need the following info:

Name / Address / Phone # (in case you're the winner)
What Browser and what VERSION you're using (IE 8.0.6001.18702, Chrome 14.0.835.163 m, etc)

List of stuff (with links to things you're talking about if applicable)...

A bit off topic, but is the tweed section going to be a reality or is it just for giggles?

Everything that is currently live on that site WILL BE able to be ordered. That includes all the tweeds shown on the tweed jacket / vest / tweed kilt pages.

Sorry... after several years, a few false starts and working on this thing pretty much non stop for the past 2 months, I'm getting anxious.

Hey Rocky, Just like to mention that I don't care for your bold font style that you used for your email, location and phone. Does not show a clear image of the letters, looks cramped. I would change to another font, it would make it a little easier to read. Just my two cents. I'll start looking at your site, congrats on the new one in progress.

Looking for any and all feedback... comments about layout, broken links, missing pics, dropdown options that are out of number order (i.e. 10, 14, 12, 6, 4, 8), etc.

I'm opening myself up a bit when stating the above... there ARE some things (style, design element, pictures, etc) that people have been pointing out that WILL NOT change, but that's OK! I'm asking for a list of opinions as well as facts. I won't take offense if individuals don't like a certain picture or design element that we chose. I am just looking for feedback in general. Some things CAN NOT be changed (or maybe they could, but would not be cost effective) and others can be, but I may have a different opinion on a specific design element than someone else.

We're up to about 10 lists. Thank you to all who have sent them in so far. We love the feedback!
