| | Cargo Inbound!
Well I have a function coming up (day after labor day) kind of a penguin party at the beach. That is all the penguins (waiters, bartenders, cooks, busboys, etc.) let it all hang out the day after labor day or thereabouts. Wanted to wear a solid black kilt to that affair just because.
Good as his word, kilt kamp and new digs and all, my kilt was completed eight weeks to the day from billing. That is impressive. So my cargo kilt is inbound. Can't wait to sport it and post a review.
Thanks for being prompt, Steve. I was considering getting a cheap "stunt double" but it will be great to wear my Freedom Kilt to the "Free from Tourism" party we have every September when they all pile back into the S.U.V.s' and head every direction but East.
Pics and review to follow.

Well we have a tracking number.... but the Canadian Postal service tracking is alot like USPS tracking.... yep we got it in here somehwere.
Still should be within the next week or so. Onward we jones. Meanwhile, I have bashed out another Perldog Kilt, getting closer every time and another SWK standard is speeding towards me.
Life is Good.

Isn't that the hardest part of the wait? I've got a custom kilt on the way---since this is the FK section, I won't say from where or whom---and I've managed to contain my jones, until I got the e-mail with the tracking number.
Since then I've been watching Fedex like a hawk. Notification posted Thursday, Friday and Saturday it sat in its state of origin . . . and then nothing until today, just a few minutes ago.
AIIIEEEE!

It is hard to say which is worse... Knowing where exactly the package is, or the postal service "tracking" which pretty much says "yep, it's in here somewhere'......
One of the worst experiences I had with kilt related shipping was when Fed-ex shipped a package four states over and then had to bring it back to the midpoint and start over. That triggered a none-too-diplomatic email from yours truly. THat was one time when Fed-ex precise tracking was not helpful...
Still I think it pretty remarkable that Steve Shipped on time with everything going on @ FK this summer. Kilt Kamp, spontaneous relocation of the building, various rabble infesting the premises at random times. Truly a masterpiece of mission focused effort.

Heard a doorbell ring and the postal truck running off Yesterday. My Freedom Kilt has arrived. Lost some weight during the jones period but it still fits amazingly well.
Opted for the cargo with under apron pocket, front slash and cargo, and rear welt pockets, filigree buttons, silver logo in black poly/cotton twill.
Amazing Garment with 9.78 yards of fabric.
After putting together five kilts myself, have a much deeper appreciation for the craft. This kilt is an absolute steal. It would take me days to duplicate and the quality would be nowhere near this one. Truly workmanlike, I would go so far as to say artisan in quality. A superb value for the dollar spent.
If you have been thinking about a freedom kilt, just do it.
Let me wear this puppy and wash it a few times and a full review will be forthcoming.
Till then - kilt on, and get your FK!

Oh wow, I can breathe again. We were starting to get real worried about this kilt getting lost forever in the Postal System.
So far, we've never had a kilt permanently lost although the one we sent to Graham in Tasmania took 4 months to arrive.
I'm glad you like the kilt. I think you will be even more happy after a few washings. The fabric will start to drape better as it softens and the swish will get even nicer.
I'm looking forward to an in depth review from someone who has made a few kilts of their own. It should bring a whole different aspect to how you look at my product from someone without that experience.
