How's this for a Kilt Shirt?

I hate Jacobite shirts because they look too costumy for me.
So I got to thinking what a dedicated Kilt Shirt would look like.

Today I modeled the final, perfected pattern for our Kilt Shirt. I thought I'd ask everyone what they think.

The first is me in the "Stand Collar Model". 5.7 oz. Hemp/Cotton in Beige

I'm wearing my X Marks Tartan Kilt,
A Freelander Sporran,
A Sporran Strap by Robert at R-Kilts,
A Kilt Belt by Cavscout.
Heritage Hose
I don't know how I kept from smiling.

The sleeves have a hint of fullness without being puffy.

Here is a detail shot of the collar.

And here is the secret of the Freedom Kilts Kilt Shirt.

Wait for it ---------

Ta Da

Who needs a slip?
I have found that this;
1) Keeps your kilt clean.
2) Helps keep chafe down.
3) Adds a layer for warmth.
4) And helps the pleats fall back down into position when you stand up.

Here is the Grandfather Collar on another of our super long Kilt Shirts.
Again a Hemp/Cotton blend this time in Off White.

And another view of the Grandfather Collar

So, what do you think?

We will offer these in stock sizing of S - M - L - XL and also custom made.

The Fabric is either 100% Hemp, a 55%/45% Hemp/Cotton blend, or a 100% Cotton. We will offer Off White, Beige, Blue, Cranberry, and Black for colors.

Price will depend of fabric choice and whether you want stock sizing or custom.

I like them, esp the grandfather collar. I also hate Jacobite shirts and normally wear a dickies workshirt with my kilt.

I LOVE it. I really like the idea of the hemp. Organic fabrics are wonderful. Keep us informed. I'm excited as I love to wear collared shirts like this with my kilts.

BRILLIANT!

You know what...
Those are two of the best looking shirts I've seen with a kilt. I really like the longer cut of both....Keeps the shirt from ridding up.

Very nice.

Man, you had me scared until I scrolled down to the bottom half of that shot with the open Kilt.

I like that shirt.

Steve,

I like the idea of the longer shirt for use with a kilt. I really like the second shirt with the grandfather collar. The first looks fine, it just doesn't seem that different from a shirt I could buy at a department store (from the waist up). I wish the sleeves on the second were a tad fuller, not quite like this prototype you posted earlier:

But maybe halfway beween the two.

Can you give us a rough idea of prices?

Cheers

Outstanding Steve! I find that when I wear a tartan, I really like to have a button down shirt to go with it, but never seem to find the right colors/styles. I really like the extra length.

Oh, and nice legs!

I think you've got a hit there! Doubles as a nightshirt as well!

Let's see what shade of blue you have...I've been wearing blue shirts since they were part of my grammar school uniform and life just ain't complete without several in the closet...the beige don't look too bad either. The grandfather collar rocks!
