The Start of an Empire?

This past weekend was the Victoria Highland Games. Many of you are aware of my knitted accessories so the Wizard graciously offered me some space in his stall to "test the market". So off we go to beautiful Victoria.

On Friday evening, The Wizard and the Kilted Knome opened their home for a small gathering of rabble that included Thistledown and wife, Ruth, Macman and Mrs. Mac and the stunning Allison, Ian and Brenda. Burgers and brauts were the order of the evening along with a number of intriguing libations.

The infamous Maple Whisky.

Steve handles the grill.

On Saturday, we were off to the park to finish setting up in preparation for the hordes to follow.

Here I "hang out my shingle".

From this small table, the seeds of an empire are planted.

My first customer, Fred Blue. He purchased a set of garter ties and he is sure they are the reason he won his division in the heavy games!

The Three Amigos during a lull.

And finally, Thistledown helps me show off my brand new XMTS kilt by you know who.

It was a great weekend, the weather was good, the music was grand, the company was first rate.

I would like to thank Bobbi and Steve for their generosity in allowing me this opportunity and hopefully, in the near future, you'll see "Big Mikey Originals" as a paying advertiser right here.

Big Mikey - congratulation on a fine start!

And Jude says she's thinking about thinking when she should begin to think about the thing she will make for you.

Great pics and some really interesting looking garter ties in that one photo!!

You had to go and post a pic of your XMTS kilt... I've got one in the Wizard's queue and had managed to keep my jones to a low boil... until now!!

Congratulations on your start, hats off to Steve, and thanks for the good weather. Makes one wish they had been there to be part of it all.
