I got notification on Friday that my Cargo ABU (Air Force Digital Tigerstripe) is inbound. Shipping from Florida/Victoria and visa versa is typically 6-10 days.

george,
Who did you order it from?? I would love to get one in the 70'-80's woodland camo, that I wore when with the Marines! Of course I'd be very interested in what ttype of cloth is used...... winter-weight canvas would equate to a "lightweight" kilt, and the rip-stop material would be far too light to hold decent pleats (imho). LEt me know when you get it!!

Wonderful news! (especially as it means Panache and his lovely F-H.C.A.G.'s kilts get closer to the top of Steve's queue! )
Cheers
Jamie

I think the fabric I got is slightly lighter than my uniform winter weights, but that could be partly due to the treatment. I ordered it from www.uniformnametape.com and sent it to Steve Ashton as a custom order job. No kiltmaker carries the ABU fabric, so I had to order it and then ship it to the kiltmaker of my choice. I'll post pictures as soon as I get it and have a chance to wear it.

George is correct that I do not normally carry ABU as a stock Camo fabric and he had to ship it to me for his Kilt.
But I spent far too long in the military not to respect those now serving by carrying anything but MilSpec quality fabrics.
I do have the Woodland Camo. It is the exact same fabric I wore on duty during the '80's.
My MarPat has the EGA and you can see in my gallery a soldier in Iraq wearing an ACU Kilt with other parts of his uniform. It is all the real deal.
Well, with the exception of Pink Death. That's just too fun not to have.

There doesn't seem to be a way to order ABU fabric on the website. Did you have to phone the company to place your order?
I look forward to seeing this kilt. I was in the AF for 11 years.

For ABU fabric try these folks. http://www.vtarmynavy.com/abu-camo-cloth.htm
You are buying seconds and sometimes there are flaws in the fabric or mis-prints of the patterns. But the service is good and the price reasonable.

That's the actual URL I ordered from. Steve's source seems less expensive, but I'm not sure if the fabric is exactly the same.

Steve,
Thank you for the link.
Georgeblack7,
Thank you also for the link. The fabric Steve's link goes to is light weight nylon. The material you bought is winter weight poly-cotton, correct?
