Kilt Review
This isn't speculating or anything, so please don't close this...
Yesterday, the Kilt Review site had a very weird "religious" tone to it in honor of Patty's day. Today, the site has been replaced by the Ohio state (where David the moderator is from) website.
I emailed David to see what's going on. Will report more when I get a reply (if I do).
If anyone else knows what is going on, please chime in.

I got the Ohio State site today too when I tried to go in (for the first time in months) and post a review of my new USAK.

didn't see it Rocky, but i do know that the site is tolerant of Christian discussion (mostly is a seperate forum).
It might seem that someone is very INtolerant and has hacked into the site.

David changed the whole site to a VERY Christian site (nothing wrong with that). Apparently, there was a short heated discussion about "gender bending" and christians and then the whole site changed to the Ohio state site. Not sure if someone hacked the site or if David got mad and closed up shop.

I don't know the full story yet, I'm out of touch a bit (even tho' I'm a moderator -who is not doing his job properly).
As you rightly say Rocky, it seems the site was being troubled by someone posting very weird stuff.
Now that wouldn't be tolerated here either, so those here who chose to take the opportunity to have a go at a Christian guy who has a kilt site (not meaning you Rocky) can pack up their trolley and go home as far as I'm concerned.
Christians are not free to speak too much here (and I accept Hanks' reasons for that) so why should some be against another kilt site where such discussion is actively encouraged?
Christians have been told here before ..'if you want to talk about religion - go elsewhere. Kiltreview is 'elsewhere', so be happy!
Re. strict moderation, Hank of all people should know that tight controls are necessary, and when controversial issues are allowed (not that God SHOULD be controversial) then tighter moderation is also needed.

a little off topic but fits this thread...
meant to post this as its own thread but it feels appropriate to post it here instead.
I for one an very happy with the mods here, in that they operate to allow open and honest and real communication about kilts and related topics while preventing any proselytizing of ANY particular viewpoint or belief system that might cause consternation amongst others present.
By keeping the discourse firmly focused on kilts, arguements (other than those about the proper legnth of kilts & where they should land and the correct alingment of your accoutrements and so on...) are kept to a minimum.
there are plenty of other places for folks to get on thier particular soapbox and rant about whatever they may choose. Here, at least in my opinion, we know better than to do that as if we dont, it might give far too many people a view that woudl answer the question about whats worn under the kilt a bit too easily and I, for one, like that little bit of mystery
Cheers to the mods and all thier hard work in keeping Xmarks a friendly place for ALL to enjoy!

I thought *everyone* was free to speak here, just not about religion . Seriously, I wasn't aware of a Kiltreview site, and wonder if you might post the addy so I can check it out and see if I enjoy that one as well.

(not that God SHOULD be controversial)
It isn't that God is controversial, its that all of OUR versions of God are controversial. I like this place, 'cause it basically follows similar rules as within Messes: no discussion on politics or religion.

Bryan...didn't see anything controversial (but I didn't look real long)...
