Michael Jackson Dies at 50
Just been watching the news, reports are that Michael Jackson has died after complications arising from cardiac arrest. At first CNN was saying he was in a coma, though the Los Angles Times has reported that he has passed away.
"If the Party could thrust its hand into the past and say this or that even, it never happened—that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death."

Well, as they say, celebrities die in threes. I wonder who is next to go?

I heard it here first. Thank you for the heads up.
Had he not "fallen" in the past number of years this would be even larger than it is, as it is it is pretty huge.
Thank you again for the heads up.

Jackson was the third; Farah Fawcett and Ed MacMahon passed away before him.

Totally forgot about Ed MacMahon. You're correct, that would be the third. This "threes" phenomenon is very strange indeed.

Not a fan of his later stuff but I recall the Jackson 5. My sympathies to his family & fans. So tragic that he didn't have a childhood, one could almost explain his eccentricities.

I find it very hard to explain what he became and what he was accused of. He was more freak than person.
If you can avoid it never get into a fair fight.

I someone who was teenager in the 1980s and grew up on MTV Michael Jackson was a familiar face. I wasn't the biggest fan of his but even I fondly remember the premier of his "Thriller" video.
He was a talented performer and I hope that when all is said an done his legacy will be of a skilled singer and dancer that took full advantage of the then new Music Video format.
RIP Michael Jackson
Cheers

Michael Jackson had lots of personal issues but you have to admit, he knew how to make good music.
